How long does a residence card take in Wielkopolska?

This is one of our clients' most frequent questions. The waiting time for a residence card (karta pobytu) depends on the type of case and the office handling the proceedings.

Approximate waiting times in Wielkopolska

In our experience, in the Wielkopolska Voivodeship it is approximately 12 months in Poznań and 12–18 months at the branch offices (delegatury) of the voivodeship office.

What affects the length of the proceedings?

• The type of permit and the purpose of stay.
• Completeness of documents — formal deficiencies mean additional requests from the office.
• How quickly you respond to the office's requests.
• The office or branch office handling the case.

How to avoid delays?

There is no single universal set of documents — the requirements depend on the purpose of stay and the foreigner's situation. That is why we analyse every case individually and prepare complete documentation, minimising the risk of formal deficiencies and additional requests.

Remember that, as a rule, a foreigner must be in Poland when submitting an application for temporary residence — also when applying electronically via the MOS system.

If your case is taking a long time, we also help speed up the decision.
