Notification of entrusting work to a foreigner

The notification of entrusting work (powiadomienie o powierzeniu wykonywania pracy) is an electronic procedure for reporting the employment of a foreigner, used primarily for Ukrainian citizens entitled to work on this basis.

In certain cases, it allows legal employment without the need to obtain a work permit or register a declaration.

When is it required?

A notification may be required:

• When starting to employ a foreigner.
• When the employer changes.
• When the position or type of work changes.
• When the type of contract changes.
• With certain changes to pay or working hours.

As a rule, the employer submits the notification electronically via praca.gov.pl within 7 days of the start of work.

What are the consequences of not submitting a notification?

Failing to submit a notification, or submitting it late, may mean that the work is being performed illegally. This exposes the employer to penalties, and the foreigner to problems with future residence applications. That is why it is worth keeping track of the deadline and reporting every essential change in employment conditions.
